POSADA - Mary & Joseph's Journey

POSADA is a Spanish word which means "inn".  It is also the title of a Mexican celebration in which young people dressed as Mary and Joseph travel from house to house in their village to announce the coming of the baby Jesus and ask that he might be given a room.

The idea has been updated and we have our own knitted Mary, Joseph and their donkey who will take a journey round members and friends to lodge overnight.  They will return to Church for the Crib service and take their place in the stable ready for Christmas Day when the baby will be added.

In each home they will leave behind a lamb, which you are invited to bring to Church on Christmas Eve.

Photographs of their overnight stays can be found here.
